Jacksonville's City Center offered "Learn Design in Healthcare Facilities"on April 24th 2007. We had a great turnout of designers. Jim Wright, regional sales director with Herman Miller, reviewed the current and future operational challenges facing healthcare facilities and defined the basic characteristics of lean manufacturing techniques and how they are implemented. He also reviewed the physical impact on facility of lean techniques, reviewed select healthcare facilities that have implemented lean techniques in their facilities, and provided a summary of the findings and conclusions for practice.
